Secretary - Barbara E. Wiseheart
Barbara holds a law degree from the Saint Louis University School of Law, graduating magna cum laude, and has been a member of The Missouri Bar since 1998. She also holds a Master of Adult Education degree and is experienced in assisting people understand complex topics. In addition to her law practice, she is currently a Professor at St. Louis Community College and head of the Legal Studies program at the Meramec Campus.
Barbara is well suited for her responsibilities as Corporate Secretary.
Vice-President of Real Estate - Stuart K. Wiseheart
Vice President at Lee & Associates, Stuart has over 25 years of unique business ownership and commercial real estate experience. With positions as a multi-family property manager, asset manager, director of leasing and construction for a local developer, and as the managing broker of Realty Resource, Stuart has successfully managed all aspects of commercial real estate. Stuart brings valuable knowledge and experience to SLMRM's search for an ideal museum location.
Vice-President of Operations - currently vacant
Currently President of Timely Business Solutions, a management consulting firm, Paul had thirty-five years with IBM as a management consultant focused on business planning and contingency planning. A volunteer fire chief, part time Emergency Management Director and U. S. Air Force computer systems engineer, Paul has served on three Boards, including sixteen years with a multi-million dollar firm as Treasurer, Vice-President, and Chairman of the Board. Paul’s model railroading began in the forties and his initial layout followed him to St. Louis where grandsons’ interest spurred building and re-building of several layouts.
The mission of the St. Louis Model Railroad Museum (SLMRM) is to display operating model railroads, to research and preserve the history of model railroading and to educate the public on the many aspects of model railroading.
SLMRM is a non-profit Missouri corporation and has IRS tax-exempt status.
Area model railroad clubs will provide and operate exhibits in the museum.
Educational programs planned for the future include summer camps and tutorial workshops on model railroad design, construction, scenery building, electrical components, wiring and operations.
The museum may play host to conventions, organization meetings, school groups, school field trips, community functions and social functions such as receptions, birthday parties and other gatherings. Regular special events will be planned.
UPDATE: As of January 1, 2016, the SLMRM has commitments from four area model railroad clubs to build and operate model railroad displays at the SLMRM when the museum building is established.
A comprehensive business plan has been documented as well as architectural drawings of the desired facility.
As of February 1, 2017, SLMRM has identified an outstanding museum site and is currently initiating a fundraising campaign. Watch for developments.
